Mermaid’s Penthouse-Oceanfront, Parking, Sleeps 6!

Great location and well furnished.

We enjoyed our stay loved the location we would stay again. Minor issues cup in dishwasher missing to place pod. Large bedroom bed squeaks loudly with any movement.

Great location and comes as advertised. Had a great stay and we plan on returning.

Great location - right on the boardwalk and beach; the bay is a five minute walk. Multiple restaurants within walking distance. Boogie boards, chairs and beach towels available which made beach time wonderful. We were on the top floor - stairs were easy but if needed there is an elevator. Two entrances in case part of your party comes in later - can enter without waking the others. Bathrooms updated and clean.

Great stay! We are looking at making this a yearly event for our family. Location is amazing! Within walking distance to great shops, restaurants and steps, literally five steps to the sand.
We watched Dolphins at play at sunset. It was truly amazing.

great location, great space, would stay again!

If you are looking at a centrally located oceanfront stay this place is for you! Easy walks to anywhere in Pacific and Mission beaches and only a 25 minute ride to downtown San Diego.

We had a pleasant stay. The place is in pacific beach on the third floor of a six-plex with a door right to the beach. The washer/drying made things easier for traveling with little ones. Tons of dining, shopping, and recreation options all within walking distance. There wasn’t much as far as amenities in the kitchen. No salt or pepper, coffee or coffee filters, etc., but the kitchen was stocked otherwise. Grocery store was a couple blocks away so no big deal. There were plenty of towels and kids toys for the sand which was a nice touch too! Thank you, can’t wait to come back.

Amazing Place to stay, had an excellent experience. Communication between the manager was seamless, would definitely stay again.

Great place on top of being in a great location

Great location, with panoramic views of the beach. Awesome for a group of young people but I imagine a family would enjoy just as much. Right on the water

The apartment is in a great location right in front of the beach. San Diego Sunset was quick to respond and gave us a lot of information to explore the area. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit San Diego.

The location is wonderful; really can't be beat! The breezes from the ocean were very refreshing. Being able to walk right on to the boardwalk is great.

However, the inside of the penthouse was not as nice as I expected from the photos and for the money paid. Needs updating. The kitchen is not well furnished, the dining room table only fits 3 people, although there is a bar in the kitchen where people can sit, the cabinets throughout the house were not very clean (on the outside) and were quite beat up. Unfortunately there is not a deck available with access from the unit; it is downstairs outside the building on the first floor. But this was my fault in not noting this when I rented the placde.

Also, our bikes were stolen from the patio area on the first floor. They were chained to the railing, but the thieves cut the locks and took all three bikes. They were definitely knowledgeable thieves as they stole the expensive bikes and didn't bother with the rental bikes. DO NOT LEVE EXPENSIVE BIKES OUTSIDE, EVEN LOCKED UP. Bike theft in the area seems pretty common after talking to folks.

Sunset Rentals was great, it just seems that the unit should be in better shape and better furnished for the price to rent.

Amazing view!

Being able to wake up and listen to the waves while sitting on the couch drinking coffee is truly something special. Location is perfect for those who are interested in having easy access to the beach along with the nearby restaurants without having to call a lyft ride. We did not have to move our car the entire time there, because everything was within walking distance. Host is very responsive and has bikes and boogie boards for those interested. I would stay again.

Excellent location!!! Short walk to everything you need for a beach house, beach adventure or relaxing get away. I would love to stay here again!

Awesome location! Lots to do around the apartment.

This is a great space, and an unparalleled view, for pretty much ANY location in San Diego. Be prepared to deal with loud partiers and the overwhelming smell of 'weed', though, it's unavoidable in this town. The entire building is used for renting to tourists, it seems, and units #1 and #5 were both chocked full of party boys that didn't settle down until about 3am on all 3 nights. No, I'm not going to call that police, that's ridiculous. But the beds, the bathrooms, the kitchen, the living room - all incredibly spacious and very nice. I'd rent the place again. it's in the perfect location to go north to Grand/Garnet, or south to Belmont Park, and there are plenty of electric scoots nearby to help you get around. Plus the unit is right next to the volleyball courts and groceries.

Great place to stay if you want to be right on the beach. Kitchen and bathrooms could use updating but aside from that I highly recommend it.

The mermaid penthouse was amazing, the location was the best! You walk right out and it’s the beach! Tons of restaurants and bars nearby, perfect weekend getaway 🙂
